The event was organized and sponsored by the Leading Research Environment “Global Media Studies and the Politics of Mediated Communication” (Director: Miyase Christensen) in collaboration with Stockholm University’s Latin American Institute. In the well-attended lecture, Silvio Waisbord analyzed the problems that populist political communication poses for a democracy grounded in reason, tolerance, and solidarity.
