Marina Dahlquist is professor in Cinema Studies. She received her PhD at Stockholm University in 2001 with a thesis titled The Invisible Seen in French Cinema before 1917. Her research interests include historical reception studies, educational and industrial films, and issues of globalization. Recent book publications include Petrocinema: Sponsored Film and the Oil Industry (with Vonderau, Bloomsbury Academic, 2021), The Institutionalization of Educational Cinema: North America and Europe in the 1910s and 1920s (with Frykholm, Indiana University Press, 2020). Corporeality in Early Cinema: Viscera, Skin, and Physical Form (with Galili, Olsson, Robert, Indiana University Press, 2018), and Exploring Perilous Pauline: Pearl White and the Serial Film Craze (University of Illinois Press, 2013).
